Growing Organic Traffic and Leads Through Content Marketing

I joined the SonderMind team soon after Series B funding, when the teams were lean and starting to form specialized functions. I was hired as a content and creative marketing manager and tasked with building out this area of the business. In this role, I formed and managed a creative team–including agency partners–to support the brand and create content, while establishing the marketing operations and project management functions for the department, identifying, hiring, and managing staff in these roles. My primary responsibility at that time, however, was to lead the content strategy and editorial production for SonderMind.com, and related content marketing efforts across channels and audiences. I was responsible for writing, editing, and publishing accessible mental health resources for both individuals and clinicians.
I quickly established an editorial calendar and brought on freelance, health-experienced writers and a full-time copywriter and editor, and managed a content agency to scale an existing blog. I collaborated with our clinical department and Chief Medical Officer to implement a medical review process for all content by licensed mental health clinicians. Within a year, I helped build and expand a dedicated and medically-reviewed content channel for organic growth, increasing monthly leads generated from organic content by more than 100%.
