Coordinating, Programming, and Streaming Live Events

Before virtual became our norm, I worked on live streaming physical events and content to digital audiences across Facebook, Vimeo, and YouTube. An example of this is the Curator Culture series, beginning in 2018. My role involved sourcing an AV vendor, designing the stage graphics, hiring a videographer/editor, and executing the live feed on the selected platform, along with developing and implementing all promotions and related marketing tactics. 

When virtual programming became the only means of producing live events during a global pandemic and forced museum closure, I began producing all virtual programs at The Bass In the summer of 2020. Mostly using Zoom or Instagram, and broadcasting to either Facebook or YouTube for a real-time live feed, I orchestrated the run-of-show and ancillary tasks associated with producing each program. All of this was done with minimal funding, if any, during a time fiscal conservatism was of the utmost importance.

For the opening of our digital gallery on Instagram @TheBassSquared, I initiated and developed a partnership with The New Tropic, a local media partner, to host and stream a virtual opening night and curator talk, reaching a wider and more diverse audience through their channels. In exchange for hosting and promoting the program, they received brand recognition across all promotions for the event as the official media partner. As a designated spokesperson for the institution, I also kicked-off the event introducing exhibition and our speakers.

For Breakfast at The [Virtual] Bass and Curator Culture’s virtual spin-off, I wrote and executed talent agreements, coordinated AV testing and tech implementation, detailed run-of-shows for each conversation, set-up Facebook live notifications, organized the Zoom meetings and webinars, identified visual graphics needed, and worked with the graphic designer and social media manager on my team to produce them.
